Terms of Service

1. The agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of EduSync, a school management application provided by Godlinked Technologies ("we", "us", "our"), Nagda Jn., District Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, India.

EduSync is licensed to a school. By installing or using the app — as a principal, teacher, student, parent, accountant or transport staff member — you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the app and inform your school.

Where a separate written agreement exists between us and a school, that agreement takes precedence over these Terms for anything it covers.

2. Licence to use EduSync

Subject to these Terms and to the school's licence remaining active, we grant the school and its authorised users a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use EduSync for the school's internal administration.

You may not sell, sublicense, rent or redistribute the app, nor use it to provide services to any organisation other than the licensed school.

3. Accounts & roles

• Accounts are created and assigned by the school. Users do not self-register.
• Each account carries a role, and each role sees only the data appropriate to it.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity carried out under your account.
• Tell your school immediately if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
• Accounts of students who leave the school are archived or disabled by the school.

4. The school's responsibilities

The school controls the records held in EduSync. The school is responsible for:

• The accuracy of the data it enters — student details, marks, attendance, fees and documents.
• Obtaining any consent required from parents or guardians before entering a child's information.
• Deciding who receives an account and what each role may access.
• Complying with the education and record-keeping rules that apply to it.

We process this data on the school's instructions and do not independently verify the records a school enters.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Access, or try to access, records belonging to another user or another school.
• Attempt to breach, probe or circumvent the app's security or access controls.
• Upload unlawful, obscene, defamatory or harassing content, or content that infringes someone else's rights.
• Use the app's messaging, notice or announcement features to send spam or misleading information.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile or create derivative works from the app, except as permitted by law.
• Use automated tools to scrape data, or place unreasonable load on our systems.

Misuse may lead to the account being suspended by the school or by us.

6. Fees & payment

EduSync is licensed to schools on commercial terms agreed separately with each school. The app itself is distributed free of charge to the school's users — students, parents and staff are never charged by us for downloading or using it.

The app contains no in-app purchases and no advertising. Any school fee amounts shown inside the app are the school's own fees, recorded by the school; we neither collect nor process those payments.

Where a school's licence lapses or fees remain unpaid, we may suspend the service after giving the school reasonable written notice.

7. Data & privacy

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. In short: the school is the data controller, we act as its processor, and we never sell personal data.

The school's data belongs to the school. On written request following termination, we will return or delete it as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Availability & support

We aim to keep EduSync available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates, network failures or outages at our infrastructure providers may cause temporary interruption. Where planned maintenance is likely to be disruptive, we will try to inform the school in advance.

Support is provided by email at support@godlinked.in and by phone during working hours. We may release updates that change, add or remove features; keeping the app updated is recommended, as older versions may stop working.

9. Intellectual property

EduSync — its software, source code, design, branding and documentation — remains the property of Godlinked Technologies. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to a school or user.

Content entered by a school or its users — student records, notices, photographs, homework and similar material — remains the property of the school or the person who created it. By uploading content, you grant us the limited right to store, process and display it solely in order to operate the app for your school.

10. Third-party services

EduSync relies on third-party providers, including Google Firebase, Google's Gemini API, Cloudinary, Cloudflare and OneSignal. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to the processing they perform. We are not responsible for outages or changes in these services, though we will make reasonable efforts to restore or replace an affected feature.

Answers produced by the AI Help feature are generated automatically and may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. They are a study aid, not a substitute for a teacher.

11. Disclaimers

EduSync is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be error-free, that defects will be corrected immediately, or that reports, calculations or documents generated by it are free from mistakes arising out of the data entered. Schools should verify official documents — certificates, marksheets and fee receipts — before issuing them.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, goodwill, data or business opportunity, arising out of the use of or inability to use EduSync.

Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the licence fees actually paid to us by the school for that period.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

13. Suspension & termination

A school may terminate its licence in accordance with its agreement with us. We may suspend or terminate access where these Terms are materially breached, where the service is being misused, or where required by law — giving reasonable notice wherever it is practical to do so.

On termination the licence ends and access stops. Data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, and the school may request an export before its data is removed.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the service evolves or as the law changes. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the current version. Material changes will be notified to schools directly. Continuing to use EduSync after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of them. Before starting proceedings, both sides agree to attempt to resolve the matter in good faith by writing to the contact address below.
